Hello faithful friends!
The Lord is blessing Coram Deo! It’s been a few months since our last update. Lots of good has taken place, and we want to share. Thank you again for your prayers and support of this new church plant.
Here’s what’s been going on!
Our First Deacon
Matt Lesher was installed on March 22 to serve our facilities and safety ministry. Pray for him as he steps into this new role. He comes with years of experience and adds a unique value to our church leadership. He was formerly a member of Redeemer Community Church and is the model exemplar of how churches send their best!
A New Supporting Church
Bayleaf Baptist in north Raleigh has come alongside our effort with financial support. We are grateful for lead pastor Jared Richard and missions pastor Aaron Wilson for their partnership. Our partnership is also marked by joint work together in London, England. Coram Deo is sending a team in late May and another in late July.
Soon To Be …. Website Update!
Our team has been working hard with a trusted vendor since late last year. And launching next month our website will have a new look! (same address) We’ll highlight core ministries and mission partnerships. We’ll also have a new platform for regular ministry updates. We’ll send a message on launch day. Share with your friends, and let us know what you think!
New Ministry Partner
As Coram Deo seeks to be a church that plants churches, we have entered into a formal partnership with Neighborhood Churches. They work to plant churches along the south coast of Massachusetts, based in New Bedford. We’re sending a team this week to work their annual Weekender conference.
Student Ministry!
Our Ministry House is awesome. It’s used daily. One exciting rhythm is our growing student ministry on Sunday nights. Dinner is served at 6pm to over 20 middle and high schoolers. Followed by a lesson and discussion groups. Right now we’re studying Men of the Old Testament. Our students will go to summer camp at Caswell Beach in June.
Growing Membership
Since launching last August with 42 members, our total membership has grown to 86. One of those was a baptism! Our next Members’ Meeting is set for May 17. We look to add another 10 members and approve an increased financial budget for next year. If you’d like to give to our bottom line, missions or a specific ministry, you can give here. Thank you in advance for supporting a growing church in a growing area!
Prayer Points
Coram Deo is best supported by prayer. As you pray for us, please keep these items in mind:
- Elder candidates. As the church continues to grow, pastoral leadership is critical. Pray the Lord gives us at least one more elder this year.
- We’re hiring! If you know anyone in the Raleigh area looking for a part-time music role, forward this job description.
- Our land search continues. We’ve had a few leads but nothing significant. We’re praying for land within walking distance of Willow Spring High School!
- Pastor Neal and others visited Pillar Churches in Utah this month. Pray for vision and wisdom as Coram Deo seeks to help these churches and start new ones.
- North and South Lakes neighborhoods. We’re surrounded by nearly 1,000 homes with new developments underway. Pray for favor as we reach out and share the gospel.
It’s been a great few months of ministry. Stay in touch through our Facebook page and podcast.
We’d love to hear from you. And if you’re in the area on Sunday, please visit!
Blessings!
Coram Deo
